1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms describe the conditions under which Usage Hosting provides hosting, domain-related and optional managed services. By placing an order and accepting these Terms at checkout, a customer agrees to the Terms and any product-specific order details. If an order conflicts with these general Terms, the specific written order should control for that service.
2. Accounts and accurate information
Customers must provide accurate contact and billing details, protect login credentials and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Customers are responsible for activity carried out through their accounts except where caused by our failure to meet our own obligations.
3. Services and resource allowances
Shared hosting includes the resources listed at the time of order. Additional resources may be charged according to published rates. Standard shared-hosting storage is limited to 100 GB. We may recommend a different service when an account exceeds shared platform limits or materially affects other customers.
4. Usage-based billing
The shared-hosting base price is $6.99 CAD per month and includes 1 GB storage, 10 email accounts, 5 domain aliases and 1 database. Additional usage is charged under the progressive rates shown on the Pricing page. Resource measurement and billing periods are shown in the applicable order and invoice. A Preferred Monthly Budget is a notification preference, not a maximum charge or service cutoff.
5. Other services and renewals
Managed Hosting is an optional $22.95 CAD monthly add-on. Domain registration for eligible standard extensions is advertised at $19.95 CAD per year; Extension-specific fees, transfer fees and renewal terms are displayed before checkout. Domain registration is subject to applicable registry and registrar rules. Domain renewal is the customer’s responsibility unless an automatic renewal arrangement is confirmed.
6. Minimum term, payment and cancellation
Shared hosting has a three-month minimum initial service commitment beginning on the activation date. Unless a different term is stated in the accepted order, the service continues month-to-month after the initial three months until cancelled.
Hosting is billed monthly at the base rate plus applicable measured resource usage and selected add-ons. Charges may vary each month. A Preferred Monthly Budget is a notification threshold only; it does not limit charges, prevent additional usage, or suspend the service.
A customer may request cancellation through the client portal before the next renewal date. Cancellation during the initial three months does not remove the obligation to pay charges for the remainder of that initial commitment. Any charges for usage already incurred remain payable. Cancellation after the minimum term takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless a different date is confirmed in writing.
Invoices must be paid by the due date. If an invoice is overdue, we may send reminders and, after reasonable notice where practicable, suspend affected services. Suspension does not erase charges already due. Applicable taxes and any nonrefundable third-party domain fees are shown at checkout or on invoices.
Before checkout, customers must be shown the minimum term, recurring base rate, variable usage pricing and links to the Terms, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, and must actively accept those terms.
7. Support and communication
Requests for support, billing, sales and account assistance begin through our ticket system, including messages emailed to designated department addresses. Technicians may arrange a telephone call where useful. Our current support targets are an initial response within 45 minutes and resolution within three hours for eligible issues within our control; these are targets, not an unconditional promise that every issue can be resolved in that period.
8. Customer content and acceptable use
Customers remain responsible for the content they upload and for securing their applications, credentials and licensed software. Use of the services is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy. We may take proportionate steps to investigate or contain credible abuse, security threats or legal violations, subject to applicable law and these Terms.
9. Backups and managed services
Backup coverage, retention, storage charges and restoration options depend on the purchased service. Customers should maintain independent copies of critical data. Managed Hosting scope, exclusions and DNS administration requirements will be described in the applicable service description and accepted at checkout.
Managed Hosting requires that the domain’s authoritative DNS be administered through the Usage Hosting-managed Cloudflare environment. Customers may keep their domain registration with another registrar.
10. Availability, third parties and changes
Internet connectivity, domain registries, DNS propagation, external services and customer software may affect availability. We will provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance when practicable. We will not make promises about third-party services beyond what we can reasonably control.
11. Liability and disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses arising from the services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to mandatory consumer protections. Customers may raise disputes by submitting a ticket through the client portal.
12. Changes and contact
We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes to these Terms, except where urgent legal or security requirements make earlier changes necessary. Questions can be directed to [email protected] or submitted through the client portal.
